Arabella: The sofa with two folds

Arabella is a sofa that at first glance seems quite normal, but little to look, discover a very original furniture design based on the route that makes the element that defines it: The strip of polyurethane foam covered in leather. This unique piece is forming around the seat and back of the sofa, folding to form each of the armrests, resulting in an asymmetrical look cabinet.

This sofa was made in the form of 2.5 and 3 seats in a single color (beige, silver, black, white, green, and red) or two, and metal legs in chrome finish or lacquered.

Arabella Sofa was designed by Stefan Heiliger, and distributes Leolux.

A sofa in an old bathtub

The current old bathtubs are either refurbished for new designs that take as their inspiration, or in parts recovered, the latter in high demand according to their condition. Today we see a somewhat rowdy to get around them and turn them into furniture, but a few seats either, as they have had the idea of giving a poke to fill color with an aspect of pop and kitsch.

The bathtubs are cut only one side, preserving the original feet, leaving space for a mattress made to measure. These, of bold prints, and pillows uncomfortable quilting the back, are responsible for providing this fun touch of madness. The parts are original from the 1800 and 1900, and each is unique, usually custom made.

One of these baths can emulate this style, making sure the operation with the right tools. I have to confess that I am very sorry to see them cut, because even if they become unique furniture, do not stop being a decorative jewelry in original condition. The price of each of these sofa is just over a thousand euros to change.

Convertible bed desk for children’s bedrooms

The children’s room decor is a workhorse for new parents who often live in houses a few square meters. Choosing a bed for a small apartment is probably one of the problems faced by new parents in many cases.

Today I wanted to share with you some folding beds that do not occupy much space as they are lowered during the day and only see a desk where the child can do homework. The brand is manufactured by Clei and although based in the UK, it can be found in some furniture stores.

On these lines your Poppy Bed is hidden behind the desk and is available in both low would you see illustrating this post and in other high version where the mattress 90 cm wide housed in the upper cabinet. You see, when the bed is off the blue board is the desktop would be in parallel with the mattress so it is imperative to leave it empty every night that will be used.

One of the things I like is the light coming from underneath the cabinet and will facilitate night reading along with the shelf parallel to the bed side table that works perfectly as to leave the book or to set the alarm and not having the soil. Of course, the cabinet does not include the cabinet that you have right and which is sold separately, but with that design you will not be difficult to combine the bed if you already have a closet.

Inspiration for a work area in room

Those who work at home are lucky enough to do so with clothing more comfortable than taking it to the office but we always find difficult to place a work space in a place where we can concentrate. As I am aware that not all you can devote an entire room to the workplace, today I bring you an inspiring image in which the area have been working in the classroom.

Luck is the living image is quite large, so that the computer and the chair, the main elements that need not interfere much in the decor. See how we have two rooms in one room: first, a gathering area bounded by the sofa on one side, the trunk that serves as tea table and chair to close this part.

On the opposite wall, we have the typical furniture room that has left the table with a longer space of gates in the bottom with what we got a place to put your legs when you’re using it as a desk. I would have put the television in this area although I must admit I love the use made of white in this space and perhaps this device would come to blur the whiteness achieved. Noguchi coffee table

Noguchi coffee table is one of the furniture that I never tire of looking at the most diverse environments. With its wooden frame and glass top, the Noguchi table of timeless and is perfect in both modern environments and in others with a retro classic.

After designing it in 1944, Noguchi said that this table was the best furniture design, and it reminded him of the ancient sculptures in bronze and marble. In fact, the coffee table could be seamlessly integrated into an environment filled with sculptures yet unobtrusive. Observe how they fit the two elements that act as legs to keep perfect balance while remaining lightweight.

The Noguchi table is available in stores that distribute Vitra furniture can be found in black ash, walnut and maple. Of course, the price is quite high compared to other tables in the market, but it is worth doing an original. Of course, fakes market works pretty well and safe alternatives that you can find a lower price of 300 euros which costs the table.

A sofa inspired by the coffins

To me it’s not much I go dark and gloomy decor, but I look with curiosity when I run into one of those furniture that could be in the home of Count Dracula for example. It is for this sofa inspired coffins today and I bring that will delight lovers of the sinister.

The Heretic sofa, as it is called, is made from a steel coffin inside carpeting the way Chester with premium Italian leather. Her measurements are 200 × 70 × 66 inches and are sewn by hand. It’s so unique, in fact, only three have been made at the level of customization that goes so far that you can ask to etch the board with your name.

If you are interested, know that your price is about 3,300 euros, which is high but does not seem overkill for a unique couch. Coffin furniture for those who do not be superstitious.

How to merge two different soils in an original way

Penny’s kitchen there are many interesting things, but all are marked by a common reference: the crystals collected on the beach near his home in Santa Barbara. Thus we see that the doors are Formica furniture palette of colors on the counter or cement embedded many of them.

What most caught my attention, however, was the original way of uniting the two different soils: the wood of the living area and kitchen ceramic. If you look right you will see that it is a concrete strip which also has embedded crystals. The strip follows a curve that visually connects the two fronts, reminiscent of the gentle waves of the sea.

I think an interesting idea to copy, unlike the typical sheet metal transition, and we can customize to your taste by adding different elements. It is also a clever way of joining two floors when not complete, or do not wish them finish straight.

An apartment in pink

Given that the honeysuckle is the color of 2011 is about to begin in a few hours, and that it is, we might say, of a rose, it seemed interesting to look at the pictures of this apartment in every one of his stays pink incorporates a greater or lesser extent part furniture or decorative details.

The colors are placed in the rooms or through the paint or wallpaper the walls, or furniture, especially the upholstery on seats, also in textile accessories, curtains, carpet, cushions … We need to calculate how much prominence you want to give a color and how much you want to fill it and then choose which part of the room is entered accordingly.

As I say, all rooms feature the pink apartment, the living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. So we started around the room in general is decorated in neutral colors, just that makes the pink stand out even more, their presence is less than ten percent of the surface, but obvious, we rose an ottoman next to the coffee table and a molding that creates a kind of frame around the TV. Hidden Speakers in a vase

Many times we add speakers in the living room or bedroom, but do not know how to place without any clash with the decor, in a way that makes them be discreet enough, they are well integrated into the environment. It does not seem a bad idea to give Jason Tan some concrete and decorative, such as flowers in a vase.

The trouble is that as happens with such issues as innovative is now only an idea and a prototype for her and may remain so, and never reaches the market, with many good ideas happen. In my case I not only like flowers in a vase, but as other objects, the speakers can hide them in different ways and changing their colors.

That way we like to put in place and pieces of furniture that become visible, otherwise, many people often do is try to disguise hiding in furniture, in corners or corners of the roof. I acknowledge that I do not dislike me, but I know there are people who do and the view hidden in another format would help to take them at home.

An office made of pallets

Why not be made with pallets … we have seen time and again recycled into various furniture, tables, chairs, beds or even garden sheds. I think we still did not see how they could become an entire office, but not a little office of those who are assembled at home in a room, quite a workplace in which several people share space.

And the solution has failed to make a timid shelves or tables, not even thought of disguising its origin. The pallets are shown in all its glory, naked and rounded, forming continuous tables and even steps. In fact, the work area is designed as a platform that houses the table. They play the dismissal and are steps that, while they are naked, put into flour imagine that will serve as shelves in which to store books and documents.

This staggered arrangement results in a free job board, which have no legs and seek a smooth flow under them comfortable when entering and leaving, or several people working together. But the pallets have not only served to create this area of work, we also see how it was used to create a staircase that leads upstairs, chaotic and messy appearance. Read the rest of this entry »

Trees of synthesis, from coast to coast

Taking a tour across the country looking for a tree to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Wound up making several glorious stops. Found Artificial Christmas Tree, which I thought you know, real balsam trees couldn't support much weight, but these trees are beautiful. From the coast of California to the Rockies, we travel beyond to Smoky Mountains and finally wind up in Vermont. I learned other detours were possible, including Alaska, the Adirondacks and the Berkshires, but everywhere you go, you find their trees.

Many sizes available, ranging from Christmas elf-height to something more approaching Yuletide giant. Too, a special shape for skyscraper-dwellers who need to slice their trees footprint without performing grotesque surgeries. We have seen many unusual designs, but I do not remember seeing a topiary tree for the season before. We do not expect innovation for something so traditional, but it will seem uniquely right for some...and the needles are a work of craftsmanship, even those with piney ridges and all the trimmings (but no turkeys here, instead wreaths, garlands, skirts, ornaments, and of course, lights lights lights....)
